Open Forum: Best Practices for Electronic Payments

The payments landscape is ever-changing.  Business-to-Business Payments are more electronic.  How can you play a strategic role in advancing your company’s transition to an electronic payments future?  Bring your list of questions and join our panel speakers in an open forum panel discussion regarding the topic of electronic payments and services.

Sample questions about electronic payments:

Ø      How have electronic payments affected your reconciliation process?

Ø      What is the most successful electronic payments change you have made in the past 3 years?

Ø      What kind of acceptance rate have you had from payees?

Ø      What kind of objections did payees have, if any, to receiving an electronic payment instead of a check?

Ø      How did you maintain approval control when moving to electronic payments?

Ø      How did you go about asking companies if they would accept an electronic payment instead of a check?  Did you send out a questionnaire?  Did procurement ask each vendor one by one?

Ø      Have you been able to document a change in processing cost by moving to ACH or a procurement card?  What kind of savings -- either in terms of fees, admin cost, time -- have you experienced?

Ø      Have you noticed that vendors receiving an electronic payment have fewer questions about the status of their payments?

Ø      What was the most difficult part of implementing a payments change in your company?

Ø      What would you have changed in the implementation process that would have made your strategy more effective?
