Please join us on Wednesday, October 14 at the Rookwood Tower as we welcome Andy Schroder to demystify Bitcoin! Mr. Schroder will be discussing the many facets of Bitcoin, including its rules, valuation, practical uses, security and its future. Be sure to invite your Treasury and FP&A colleagues!
Andy Schroder holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. In the past, Andy has worked in a spacecraft design team, as a rotating turbomachinery component test lead, and as a researcher studying unsteady heat transfer using both experimental and computational methods. Andy has also worked in the automotive manufacturing industry, in the auto salvage business, and the auto salvage computer software business.
In 2012, Andy began actively researching Bitcoin. In 2013 he began working on the ways to connect mechanical devices to Bitcoin and expand local knowledge and understanding of the technology. He was inspired to do so because of his fascination with Bitcoin and his synergistic knowledge of mechanical engineering, computer software development, control systems, and instrumentation. His focus so far has been on developing The Bitcoin Fluid Dispenser, a series of prototype control systems for retail fuel stations to accept Bitcoin for payment directly at their fuel pump.
