Join us as Mr. Frank Agnew, Account Executive at the Federal Reserve Bank, shares an overview of how the Federal Reserve interacts with the overall payments landscape today and discusses how the Fed is leading a payments improvement initiative to shape the future of payments.
Frank has covered the Ohio and Pennsylvania portions of the 4th District for the last 10 years. His duties involve servicing the more than 100 depository institutions that utilize the FED’s check, ACH, wire, and cash related services. All depository institutions within the District have at least some involvement with the FED, in receiving their check inclearings, and maintaining their access/connection to the FED, and subsequently to the rest of the banking market/industry. These responsibilities all fall under the broader heading of Financial Services.
Frank also frequently has to don his Regulator Hat and offer guidance and assistance in accomplishing mergers, acquisitions, RTN (ABA) assignments and retirements. In this same vein, he often speaks to groups for updates on where the FED is going in the ever changing payments environment, what new products and services the FED is planning, and how the FED plans to better aid the industry in dealing with the speed, efficiency, and security of the payments space.
Mr. Agnew holds a BS in Administrative Management from Penn State University, an MBS in Leadership from Franklin University.
