We look forward to having you at our Second Annual SWOAFP Conference! There is a full day of exciting topics planned for attendees including sessions on: Information Security, AP Automation, AR Automation, Real Time Payments, Shared Services, Digital Transformation, and Foreign Exchange! Following the sessions, we will have a Corporate Practitioners Round Table to finish off the event. Attendees will be eligible for 7 CTP credits and a TBD amount of FP&A credits!       Kickoff Speaker:

      Information Security - Dan Wilkins, CareSource

      Dan Wilkins is an Information Security Manager at CareSource, focusing on threats, user awareness, incident response, and risk. He would rather work with IT and the business to determine how to do something securely instead of being a roadblock. Dan has previously served as President of the Ohio Information Security Forum, a non-profit organization focused on further information security engagement.

      Lunch Keynote Speaker: 

      Professional Development Leadership Tidbits - Alandes Powell


      Alandes Powell is Vice President of Business Controls at Fifth Third Bank.  Alandes formerly served as Senior Vice-President and Director at Citi Cards, a division of Citigroup.  She is a Contributing Author to two Amazon Best Sellers; It Takes Money Honey released April 2019 and Leadership Tidbits released December 2019.  Alandes is an active member of the community serving in a number of capacities over the years to include: Board Chair of Urban League of Southwestern Ohio Board of Directors, Past Chair of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati Advisory Board, YWCA Board of Directors, Brighton Center Board of Directors,  Assistant Director of a youth sports organization, Elder Board of Inspirational Baptist Church, Motivational Speaker for Adults and High School students and Prior Co-Chair of the Academic Scholarship Committee at Triumph Church.  She is a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky, Urban Leadership Program, member-alumna of Leadership Cincinnati Class 41 and currently attending Western Governors University.  In 2018 she was one of the Cincinnati Enquirer/Greater Cincinnati Foundation Women of the Year and 2013 YWCA Career Woman of the Year.  A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Powell attended Fort Valley University an HBCU located in Fort Valley, GA.  Alandes and her husband, Gordon are the proud parents of three children; 35 year-old daughter; Kendra (Atlanta, GA), 30 year old son; Damonte (Cincinnati Fireman) and 20 year old son; Julian (Clark Atlanta University) and she is also a proud grandmother.

      Real Time Payments – Laura Listwan, 5/3 Bank


      Laura Listwan is Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial Payments Product at Fifth Third Bancorp.  She is responsible for overseeing the product strategy, management, innovation and FinTech partnerships supporting the Commercial Payments business at Fifth Third. Laura joined Fifth Third Bank in 2018. Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank, she served as the Head of U.S. Bank’s Treasury Management Product Development and Emerging solutions team.   Laura has over 25 years of banking experience focusing on payments and innovation. Prior to joining U.S. Bank, she led LaSalle Bank’s Payables Product Management team. Laura earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Economics from University of Illinois at Chicago. Laura serves on the NACHA Board of Directors, acts as the chairperson of RTP Business Committee, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Digital Banking.

      Shared Services (FP&A Topic) – Jeff Wuest, Synfiny


      Jeffrey S. Wuest is CEO & President of SynFiny Advisors.  Prior to starting SynFiny Advisors, Jeff spent 25 years in finance at Procter & Gamble. Over his last 9 years at P&G Jeff oversaw global financial planning and banking services, and led the redesign of business processes in profit forecasting, cost forecasting, marketing budgeting, SG&A budgeting, reporting, and analysis. In addition, Jeff owns a real estate management company and is partner or CFO in several other ventures. He is also on the board of the Southwest Ohio Association for Financial Professionals. Jeff is a graduate of Marquette University with triple major(s) in Finance, Economics, and History.

       Digital Transformation – Matt Thompson, First Financial Bank


      Matt Thompson is the Chief Digital Officer at First Financial Bank and joined the company in this role in April, 2019.  As Chief Digital Officer at First Financial, Matt has responsibility for Digital Product Management, User Experience, Digital Analytics, and Digital Partnerships for client- and associate-facing Digital experiences and CRM across all Consumer and Commercial lines of business.  Before joining First Financial, Matt was Vice President, Digital and eCommerce at The Kroger Co. where he led the strategy and rollout of online ordering and grocery pickup and delivery nationally.  In addition, he has experience in digital and eCommerce across multiple products and services at Sears Holdings and IBM.  Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN and a Master’s of Public Policy from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.  A native of Wisconsin, Matt currently serves as President of the Beechwood (KY) Band Boosters. He and his wife, Anne, have two children and are residents of Fort Mitchell, KY.

      Insights from the Project Investments and Cost of Capital Survey (FP&A Topic) Bryan Lapidus, Association for Financial Professionals


      Bryan Lapidus, FP&A, is currently the Director of FP&A Practice at the Association for Financial Professionals.  Bryan has more than 20 years of experience in the corporate FP&A and treasury space working at organizations like American Express, Fannie Mae and private equity-owned companies. At AFP he is the staff subject matter expert on FP&A, which includes designing content to meet the needs of the profession and helping keep members current on developing topics. Bryan also manages the FP&A Advisory Council that acts as a voice to align AFP with the needs of the profession. 

      AR Automation – Tom Berdan, DadeSystems


      Tom Berdan is Chief Marketing Officer, leading marketing and strategic partnerships for DadeSystems.  A financial services and technology industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experience, Berdan’s experience included leading Market Development and Product Management for large FinTech firms.  Berdan began his career as a banker, including roles as the Chief Operating Officer, President of the bank’s mortgage company, and served on the bank’s Board of Directors.

      Do You Have the Right Banks?  Capability, Service, and Price – Jim Brunnquell, Phoenix Hecht


      James G. Brunnquell, CTP, is a senior relationship manager at Phoenix-Hecht, handling the firm’s relationships with U.S. national and regional banks. Prior to joining Phoenix-Hecht, Jim was with Mellon Bank and Citizens Bank for 34 years; holding various sales, lending, and management positions in Business Banking, Credit Policy, Commercial Banking, and Treasury Management.  Jim has been a CTP since 1997, has a B.A. in Economics from Gettysburg College, and is a speaker at regional AFP conferences. 

      AP Automation – Garrett Astler, AvidXchange


      Garrett Astler is a Bank Channel Manager at AvidXchange.  Garrett specializes in enabling AvidXchange financial institution partners successfully go to market by leading the sales enablement, branding, marketing, and training processes.   Garrett comes to AvidXchange from the advertising agency world. Most recently with MoreVisibility, where he served as an Account Management leader, responsible for diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C clients. Prior to MoreVisibility, Garrett gained experience at Pace Florida as an Account Executive, where he excelled at building client relationships through successful execution of marketing & advertising programs.

      Foreign Exchange: Fundamental & Technical Factors, and the New Efficiencies Provided by Fintech – Jeff Link, KeyBank


      Jeff Link is a Senior Vice President in Foreign Exchange/Enterprise Payments at KeyBank, and is based in Chicago. Jeff has over 35 years of experience in banking and the financial markets; and has worked the last 20 at Key, providing FX risk management solutions to corporate clients. Jeff holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.

      Corporate Practitioner Round Table:

      Scott Hess, Treasury Manager, Cintas

      Scott Hess is Treasury Manager for Cintas Corporation with over 20 years of Treasury, Finance, and Real Estate experience.  During the past 6 years with Cintas, Scott has held positions managing Treasury Operations, Consolidated Cash Applications, and has now served as Treasury Manager since January 2019.  He is responsible for leading all Treasury and Accounts Payable functions, managing all banking relationships foreign and domestic, credit card relationships and related policies and PCI compliance, cash position and forecasting, reporting, analysis and managing projects focused on process improvement and efficiency.  Prior to Cintas, Scott held several positions with Wells Fargo and various local businesses in the Cincinnati area.  He is family focused and actively serves in leadership and mentorship positions with his local church.

      Stephanie B. Stitt, CTP, GM of Accounting and Finance, Toyota Boshoku America, Inc.


      Stephanie Stitt is the General Manager of Accounting and Finance at Toyota Boshoku America in Erlanger, KY.  She is responsible for the following functions:  Treasury, Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Corporate Card/Expense Reporting, and Customer/Supplier Master Data.  She has been with TBA for 11 ½ years.  Prior to joining TBA, she was the International Cash Manager for Convergys Corporation.  Stephanie began her career with Ashland Inc. and worked there for 18 years.  While at Ashland, she worked in Internal Audit and Treasury.  She spent 15 years in the Treasury group where she performed various roles including daily cash management, cash accounting, foreign exchange hedging (including multi-lateral netting), short-term borrowing / investing, trust investments and project management.  Stephanie is a graduate of Marshall University and has an MBA from Morehead State University.  She earned her CTP certification in 2008.

      Ari Khan, CPA & CTP, System Dir. of Treasury Operations, Bon Secours Mercy Health


      Ari Khan is the System Director of Treasury Operations for Bon Secours Mercy Health, a $10 billion healthcare company.  Ari manages the company’s banking, cash flow forecasting, cash management and merchant card services.  Ari has almost 20 years of corporate finance and treasury experience and is a CPA and a CTP.
